Art Acquisition Strategy

We are very excited about our 2012 year. There is lots to look forward to in the new year, including the 1st Montreal Timeraiser and our celebration of reaching 100,000 volunteer hours raised. We’ve also reached an investment of $500,000 into the careers of emerging artists.  Annually, the Timeraiser invests $100,000 in artists per year based on our existing funding arrangements.

As we finalize our year end and begin planning for 2012, we would like to gather some feedback from our trusted colleagues about our new Art Acquisition strategy to better support local emerging artists in Canada.

We hope you can join us during one of the conference call times below.
- Wednesday December 14th at 12pm: Call information: Skype conversation, add amanda_grainger to skype to join the chat.

Our mandate is to support emerging Canadian artists. Our goals for 2012 are to:
  1. Raise the payment to artists ceiling (to $1500 per piece)
  2. Double the amount of artwork available at the Timeraiser
  3. Expand the call/selection process to ensure we are getting the very best of the best artwork in the country
  4. Keep the Timeraiser fun and exciting
The photo below is from a kick-off night from our 1st Edmoton Timeraiser event. We handed out $11,000 in cheques to emerging artists.
