In January 2012, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority started a contest called the Impact Awards. It is described as the following: "We are looking for people who use their .CA websites to make a positive difference. Impact can be social, cultural, political, technological or economic." 

There are four catagories in which organizations can apply: Public Sector/Not-for-profit, eLearning, Small Business, App (including gaming and mobile). We applying in the Not-For-Profit category, focusing on our Planning portal, http://planning.timeraiser.ca as the specific use case.

If we win, we could received $5,000 plus recognition at the 2012 MESH Conference. Here are the criteria:

1. ability of the entry to demonstrate & tap into the potential of the Internet and .CA domain names
   
2. innovation and creativity
   
3. ability of the entry to share information and advance goals
   
4. impact of the entry
